We are Committed to safeguarding lives, not competing with Other Security agents – Amotekun Commandant

The Ogun State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with other security agencies to safeguard lives and property across the state.
Commander Brigadier General Alade Adedigba emphasised the importance of collaboration, stating that the agency’s main target is getting criminals off the streets and keeping Ogun State safe.
He also disclosed that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration has implemented a robust security system, fostering collaboration among security agencies, Amotekun Network, and other security apparatus.
Speaking on development, he revealed that Amotekun Corps has adopted new strategies, including visible presence in every part of the state, regular patrols and manning of key and vulnerable points.
He also posited that the Amotekun Corps is working closely with other security agencies, emphasising that the issue of who prosecutes is not as important as the synergy between agencies to keep the state safe.
“Earlier this year, we resubmitted a new draft bill for Amotekun to the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry is reviewing it and very soon it will get to the Ogun State House of Assembly for passage and eventual assent by the Governor.
“However we are not in competition with any agency. We are more interested in collaboration. The issue of who prosecutes is not important but the most important thing is that the state is safe. The Service Commanders in Ogun State are one and there is no competition,” he said.
“The state government has provided significant support, approval for the recruitment of more staff to cover the entire state”
“Provision of operational infrastructure to combat crime, over 50 operational vehicles and 75 motorbikes for mobility”
Also speaking the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair, noted that cultism has subsided in areas like Abeokuta, Sango Ota, and Sagamu due to the governor’s proactive approach to security.
