Barely three hours after the report of Fortress News on the exclusion of the National Association of Caterers in Nigeria, the speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has assured the members of the National Association of Caterers from the 36 States of the country, led by its President, Francisca Ojo, that their request to provide services at the Gateway Games will be communicated to the relevant organs of government for necessary actions.
The Speaker, who gave the assurance while receiving the members of the association led by Mrs. Ojo at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta noted that the Prince Dapo Abiodun- led administration is responsible and responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people, hence, the government would take necessary actions on the association’s plea.
He enjoined the association to remain calm as the government would intervene in addressing their requests, explaining that the Assembly only had responsibility for lawmaking and other oversight functions, but as the representatives of the people, it would always be ready to address the concerns of the populace.
Earlier in her plea, the National President of the Caterers Association, Mrs. Ojo, sought the Assembly’s intervention for the inclusion of the members of the Association in rendering service during the Gateway Games in line with their past involvement in the games throughout the country
