…Appeals for an inclusive process to ensure that they can participate

The National Association of Caterers in Nigeria has expressed outrage and displeasure over being excluded from catering jobs for the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

The Association staged a protest in Ogun on Thursday, expressing a potential red flag that could sabotage the effort of Governor Abiodun before the commencement of the National Sports Festival.

They disclosed that despite submitting their profiles and being assured of participation, the association claimed that the jobs were awarded to a single entity, Babcock University.

Alleging the State of unfair practices, the association’s National President, Mrs. Francisca Ojo, alleged that the governor has assured them that they will be given the job, but nobody has addressed them yet.

She also claimed that the rumour has it that jobs have been awarded to a single entity.

They expressed concerns that this decision would lead to substandard service and called for a more inclusive approach.

“Many members of our association, including widows and those with unemployed husbands, rely on such jobs to sponsor our children’s education and make a living”.

“All of us here have packed our belongings and travelled from across the country, Abuja, Calabar, Rivers, Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, all states in the country, only to be told that we would not be participating”.

The association is demanding a review of the decision and greater inclusion in the catering services for the festival.

They propose that multiple caterers be engaged to provide quality services to the estimated over 2,000 attendees of the National Sports Festival.

The association is calling for a more transparent and inclusive process to ensure that they can participate in the festival and provide quality services to the attendees.
