Back-to-school: Intellect Club Empowers Pupils with Writing Materials, Uniforms, Bags in Ogun

The Intellect Club, a non-governmental organisation, has distributed uniforms, school bags, and 1,000 writing materials to pupils in Ogun Primary School, as part of its back-to-school initiative.
The event, held at Methodist Nursery and Primary School 1 and 2 in the Ago Oko area of Abeokuta, aimed to alleviate the burden on vulnerable parents and motivate pupils to focus on their education.
The President of the Intellect Club, Hon. Quadri Abiodun Amusan, stated that giving back to society is a core objective of the club.
“We believe that education is key to unlocking the potential of our children, and we want to ensure that they have the necessary tools to succeed,” he said.
” The club has been in existence for decades and has been involved in various outreach programs, including supporting orphanages and schools. We have been to over four schools, and this will make it the fifth.”
Hon. Amusan called on other well-meaning Nigerians and organisations to join forces and give back to society.
“Government alone cannot do it; we must work together to support our children and communities,” he emphasised.
Also speaking Dr. Jamiu Ogunwolu, a pioneer president of the club, corroborated this sentiment, stating that supporting the government in relieving vulnerable parents is necessary to reduce the number of out-of-school children.
Ogunwolu expressed that it would be unjust in this day and age to still have a high number of out-of-school children in the communities.
In his own submission, the Chairman of the committee of the empowerment Intellect Lowo Ayoku disclosed that upon scanning, the Methodist Nursery and Primary school 1 & 2, it was discovered that they have needies among the pupils.
He also stated that government schools in Ogun are a major focus of the Intellect Club back-to-school empowerment.
The Headmistresses of the two schools, Mrs. Babarinlo Victoria Kehinde and Mrs. Alonge Kuburat Bola, commended the Intellect Club for its initiative, saying it has lifted the burden on parents of the beneficiaries.
They prayed for the members, expressing gratitude for their human interest initiative.
