Abeokuta South LG Chairman, Balogun Commissions Second Phase of People-Oriented Projects

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez (BOA), has commissioned the second phase of people-oriented projects within the Local Government.
The projects include four borehole water projects located at Oke-Osoba, Oke-Ikanna, Itori-Oke, and Odo-Oyo areas of Ward 13 in Abeokuta South Local Government.
The commissioning ceremony, which took place on September 30, 2025, brought together residents from various parts of the local government who expressed their gratitude for the significant impact the boreholes would have on their daily lives.
Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez emphasised his commitment to improving the living conditions of his constituents, highlighting the importance of access to clean water in promoting health and well-being in the community.
“We understand the challenges facing our people, and it is our duty to ensure that they have access to fundamental resources like clean water,” Hon. Balogun stated. “This project is just one of many initiatives aimed at uplifting our community and ensuring that no one is left behind.”
Community leaders praised Hon. Balogun for his dedication to service and urged him to continue his efforts in other areas such as education and healthcare.
They noted that access to potable water would significantly reduce waterborne diseases and promote better hygiene practices among residents.
Last speaking, the supervisor for work, Hon. Lawal Abidemi, said the mandate of the Balogun Olaniyi Afeez administration is “Everyone matters”, which has made him embark on people-oriented projects.
He disclosed that the administration has been able to fix and construct not least 24 boreholes within the period he assumed office.
Abidemi urged community leaders, CDAs and members of the community to utilise it judiciously and for the benefit of the people.
