IPAC Advises Gov. Abiodun to Uphold Rule of Law, Ensure Due Process in Government Agencies
The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to direct government agencies to follow due process in enforcing orders, ensuring strict adherence to the rule of law.
This call aims to prevent the perception of undermining court processes and the potential witch-hunting of opposition members.
IPAC emphasises the importance of government agencies observing due process in their actions.
The council stresses the need for strict adherence to the rule of law to maintain good governance, stating that the recent events have raised concerns that government agencies may be portraying the governor as anti-opposition.
“This request was a result of the resolution passed after the meeting aimed to prevent the public from perceiving the governor as undermining court processes.”
According to IPAC, “Governor Abiodun should ensure that government agencies must observe strict adherence to the rule of Law so as not to give the general public any perceived impression of Governor Abiodun witch-hunting opposition members and attempting to muzzle them”.
“The council’s concern follows recent events that suggest government agencies, through their actions, are portraying the governor as anti-opposition”.
“The council therefore call for due process and respect for court orders which is a crucial step towards maintaining good governance and upholding the rule of law in Ogun State which the Governor represents”
