The Coalition of Registered Political Parties in Ogun State has called on the DSS, NPF, EFCC, and ICPC, to look and distinctively act on the alleged zero allocation and diversion of funds meant for local government in the state.

They concluded on this in a statement made available to newsmen after a meeting held on Tuesday in Abeokuta the state capital, noting that a letter written by Hon. Wale Adedayo, Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, who is an insider in Gov.Abiodun’s administration should not be handled with levity hands.

In the statement, Hon. Oke Oluwarotimi of the ACCORD Party alleged that the people of Ogun State have suffered too long in the hands of Dapo Abiodun.

He posited there has never been any time, in the past 4 years of his administration, that the people of the State or any Local Government, enjoyed the dividends of democracy.

“It has always been pain and agony. Expectedly, the Local Government Arm of the government is the closest to the people, but Dapo Abiodun made them redundant, by draining them dry with no funds or cash flow, to carry out their constitutional rights” he said.

“About the diversion of the allocations and other special funds meant for the 20 Local Governments in Ogun State.

“The so weighty accusations and revelations, by an insider in Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s government, Hon. Wale Adedayo, should not be handled with levity. It should be thoroughly investigated, and the findings made public while those found culpable should face the full wrath of the Law. The people of Ogun State, need an explanation of how their commonwealth is disbursed”

“All Local Governments in the State are on the ground level. Agricultural goods can’t leave the farms because of bad roads in every nook and cranny of the State. No Electricity, No Water, Schools, and Hospitals are in shambles. And all we see Gov. Dapo Abiodun do is, junket around with no vision in place”. He said.

He stated that, as opposition party members, they have been complaining about Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s lackadaisical way of governing Ogun State, especially the way he had been starving the Local Governments of funds to discharge their responsibilities.

“But kudos to Hon. Wale Adedayo, for coming out, as a true son of Ogun State to put the record straight. Doing that wasn’t an easy task, but, he fought all powers and spirit that are in his party, as a member and a leader of APC, the ruling party in Ogun State, as of today”.

In the same development Hon. Sanyaolu Abayomi, Chairman of AA, applauded the Coalition of Registered Political Parties, that supported the PDP candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, in the last 2023 election, while commending the Ogun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal Members, for their astuteness, candidness, fairness, and fearlessness so far in their conduct at the tribunal sitting.

He said, the coalition was at virtually all the sittings and were quite impressed and satisfied with every bit of their conduct. The Judges did a great job worthy of praise.

We, therefore assure the good people of Ogun State that already, a new dawn is evolving which shall surely reclaim ‘’the open stolen mandate’’ of the people; a new dawn which shall liberate all and sundry from the deadly claws of the infamous and unpopular government of the day.
