A group, Yewa Youth Pacesetters (YYP) has hailed the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako for distributing food items and bags of fertilizers to the people of Ogun West Senatorial District during the yuletide.

The group also applauded the Minister for organizing a medical outreach where people in the five local government areas in Ogun West got free medical checkups and drugs.

YYP gave the commendation in a statement signed by its President, Dapo Fasola, on Thursday, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Fasola noted that the 1,300 bags of rice and 600 bags of fertilizers facilitated by the Minister and distributed to the people and farmers across Ogun West, would go a long way in giving succour to the beneficiaries during the festive period.

He added that bags of fertilizer would equally give a boon to farming and enhance food security in the senatorial district and beyond.

Fasola expressed delight that Salako since he was appointed a minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has remained one of the best-performing ministers, a feat he noted has brought honour to the people of Ogun West in particular and Ogun State in general.

He said that apart from distinguishing himself in the Federal Executive Council, the Minister has not lost touch with the grassroots, pointing out that Salako has continued to make Ogun West proud with his sterling performance in office.

Fasola, who noted that it has been over two decades an indigene of Ogun West was appointed a minister, stressed that Salako’s appointment has bridged the gap of marginalization through his performance in office.

“As a social-cultural group comprising mainly the youths in Ogun West, YYP, commends the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako, for bringing this palliatives home to our people, particularly, during this festive period. We equally commend him for organizing the free medical outreach where people from all the five local government areas in Ogun West were given medical check ups and drugs.

“We want to particularly commend Dr Salako in the orderly manner the distribution of items were distributed to all the local governments without any chaos or stampede.

“YYP is hereby expressing delight at the performance of an indigene of Yewaland as a minister in the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is a thing of pride for us that someone from our axis is rated as one of the best performing ministers in the FEC. First, as a Minister of Environment and Ecological Management, he demonstrated his capabilities as an astute administrator. And now as the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, he is also not found wanting.

“Though, it has been over two decades an indigene of Ogun West was appointed a minister, Salako has indeed bridged the gap of this interregnum with his sterling performance both in office and at the grassroots.

“Therefore, YYP wants to urge our people in Ogun West to continue to rally support and pray for the minister who has not only made us proud, but also keeping in touch with his people back home”, the statement reads in part.
