Response to Bolaji Adeniji’s Press Conference on Ogun 2027: Setting the Records Straight and the Truth He Chose to Ignore

Dear Brother, Bolaji Adeniji,
Your December 3, 2025, press conference attempts to rewrite history, distort facts and weaponise selective memory to please your current paymaster, which is very obvious.
While every citizen is entitled to a view or preference ahead of the 2027 Ogun governorship race, your remarks merit a sober response, because much of what you presented traffics in innuendo and self-interest rather than facts, consistency or genuine concern for Ogun State’s future.
But because Ogun State’s political destiny is too important to be manipulated by personal ambition and stomach-infrastructure loyalty, a detailed response has become necessary.
1. You cannot defend Yayi as being better than credible, organic Yewa sons – including GNI:
You repeatedly assert that Ogun people are building a “consensus” around Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi). But you have failed and continue to fail, to defend why Yayi should be preferred over long-standing, deeply rooted, homegrown Yewa leaders who have paid their dues within Ogun State.
You cannot, for instance, defend why Yayi is allegedly superior to:
– Hon. Biodun Akinlade – four-time House of Representatives member
– Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade – former governorship candidate
– Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele – current Deputy Governor of Ogun State
– Omooba Segun Adewale – former governorship aspirant
– Dr Isiaq Adekunle Salako – Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare
– Hon. Tolu Adebiyi – former Senator
– Biyi Otegbeye – former governorship candidate
– Elder Kola Bajomo – former Senator and many other distinguished sons and daughters of Yewa/Awori.
All these individuals have clearer Ogun grounding, deeper roots, verifiable origins and unquestionably stronger organic relationships with Yewa/Awori populace and Ogun State than an interloper, a complete stranger who believes everybody can be bought, that you are trying to force down the throat of the people.
If you truly believe in fairness, justice or the Yewa cause, you would explain, with empirical evidence, what makes Yayi more qualified than these homegrown leaders. But you cannot! And that silence says everything.
2. Your attempt to label GNI’s supporters as “agents of discord” is dishonest, uncharitable and self-serving:
Your entire press conference projects Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) and his supporters as troublemakers. This is not only FALSE but deeply ungrateful, considering your own personal and recent personal history.
You, Bolaji Adeniji, worked for GNI for several years. You benefited from his celebrated goodwill. You travelled on his assignments. You enjoyed his support, mentorship, influence and generosity.
You were elevated, sponsored, financed and even rescued by the same GNI whose name you now struggle to tarnish for current political gains and patronage.
Not once did GNI ever instruct you to insult, malign or destabilise anyone. Not once did he send you to spread hate. Not once did he authorise conflict within the party.
You know this. Ogun people know this. Your conscience knows this too. But you chose to be a willing tool for hate and bile. Where is the sudden change? Where is your conscience?
Why are you suddenly painting GNI as violent or divisive? Because you think it will earn you favour with your new benefactor?
Your audience understands what this really is. It is transactional politics, not principled advocacy.
3. The people you call “GNI supporters” are NOT hired agents – unlike the media recruits pushing your narratives:
Let us clarify a point you conveniently avoided;
The so-called “GNI supporters” you attack are not on anyone’s payroll. They are independent Ogun citizens, political observers, youths, opinion moulders, leaders and stakeholders who genuinely care about Ogun’s future.
They are not controlled by GNI. They are not appointed or assigned by him.
They simply admire his integrity, gentility, intellect and rootedness.
In contrast, you and your co-travellers are paid media hands of Senator Yayi.
Your sudden aggression aligns with your new allegiance, not with any discovered truth.
4. The real issue: Yayi’s origin remains unclear and this fuels public suspicion – not GNI’s ambition:
You complain about supporters asking questions regarding Yayi’s origin. Yet you have never provided answers.
– Where is Senator Yayi’s family house in Ogun State?
– Where are his paternal and maternal lineages?
– What is the name of his ancestral compound?
– Where are his children and immediate family rooted?
These are not attacks, they are legitimate questions which anyone who aspires to lead Ogun State must be prepared to answer, in all honesty.
If you demand clarity for others, you should begin by providing clarity for your aspirant.
Your inability or refusal to answer has only deepened public suspicion. It is not discordant to ask for clarity. It is accountability.
5. GNI remains a gentle, deeply rooted, genuinely respected son of Yewa – and you know this too well:
Your attempt to recast GNI as a violent or divisive figure collapses under the weight of facts.
His records, both in private and public services reflect competence, not chaos. His politics has always been peaceful, issue-based and respectful engagements. You know this!
Even YOU, Bolaji Adeniji have testified to this repeatedly in the past; why the sudden change of narrative? Is it for money, loyalty to a new paymaster or fear of GNI’s rising influence?
Your press conference revealed this insecurity more than anything else.
6. Ogun cannot be handed over to external political forces – no matter how glossy the packaging:
The 2027 race is not a mere contest of spending power. It is about identity, belonging, justice and homegrown governance.
Ogun State cannot be mortgaged on the altar of any imported political ambitions.
True representation does not come from deep pockets or loud endorsements; it comes from rootedness, credibility and service history.
In 2027 and beyond, Ogun State deserves better than transactional politics or paymaster-driven narratives.
Leadership must be earned, not bought.
Support must be genuine, not coerced. And ambition must be rooted in service, not inducement.
Be reminded again that the Yewa cause was never about anybody with money. It is about legitimate sons and daughters with history, heritage and roots. And on that score, GNI and many other Yewa leaders tower far above your preferred choice.
7. A final word: Ambition must be defended with facts, not blackmail:
If you believe Yayi is the best aspirant, then defend him with facts:
– his origin,
– his track record in Ogun before he was “imported” from Lagos in 2023.
– his history of service to Ogun communities,
– his direct contribution to Yewa development.
But do not attempt to rise by dragging down those who have earned respect through decades of genuine sacrifice.
Your press conference was loud, but it was empty noise that exposed fear, not strength.
It showcased desperation, not conviction.
Ogun 2027 will not be decided by press theatrics or sponsored narratives. It will be decided by truth, identity, fairness and the collective will of Ogun people. No amount of media blackmail can change that.
I urge you to rescind your blanket condemnation of GNI and his supporters. Instead, engage in issue-based politics, explain what Yayi offers, let the people listen and decide.
In the end, history will judge men, not spin doctors.
Ogun deserves leaders chosen by conviction, not by cash or coercion.

While in the UK, he gained admission to Bucks New University, Uxbridge, London, where he studied Mental Health Nursing. This transition reflected his growing passion for healthcare and human wellbeing.
His training in mental health nursing exposed him to the complexities of psychological care, empathy-driven practice, and professional medical ethics, preparing him for a demanding yet impactful career.
Following the completion of his studies, Olalekan Jiboku became a Psychiatric Nurse working with the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) in London. His role places him at the forefront of mental healthcare delivery.
As a psychiatric nurse, he provides professional care and emotional support to individuals facing mental health challenges, contributing meaningfully to public health and community wellbeing.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Olalekan Jiboku stood out through his frontline service and community-focused efforts. He supported vulnerable individuals during one of the most challenging periods in modern history.
Beyond his professional duties, he demonstrated compassion through humanitarian services, ensuring that the needy were not forgotten during difficult times.
Through his foundation, Youthlift Advocacy Foundation, he played an active role in feeding the needy and supporting vulnerable populations, particularly during hardship.
The foundation has served as a platform for youth advocacy, community support, and social responsibility, reflecting Olalekan Jiboku’s belief in giving back to society.
His humanitarian activities have earned him respect among beneficiaries and admirers who view him as a leader with a genuine concern for people’s welfare.
Despite residing and working abroad, Olalekan Jiboku has remained deeply connected to his roots and consistently shown interest in the development of his constituency.
Motivated by a desire to contribute more directly to governance and grassroots development, he has declared his intention to contest for public office.
Olalekan Jiboku is vying to represent Abeokuta South Constituency II at the Ogun State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
His aspiration is anchored on his diverse educational background, international exposure, healthcare experience, and passion for humanitarian service.
Supporters believe his blend of technical knowledge, medical expertise, and community advocacy uniquely positions him to contribute effectively to legislative duties.
As the 2027 elections approach, Olalekan Olatunde Jiboku continues to engage with stakeholders, offering a vision of responsive leadership, people-centred policies, and sustainable development for Abeokuta South Constituency II.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has commenced the electronic registration and re-registration of members as part of a strategic mobilisation drive to expand the party’s base, strengthen internal cohesion, and prepare the party for future political engagements.
Flagging off the exercise on Tuesday, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, described the initiative as a major opportunity for party members and supporters across the state to deepen their commitment to the APC, which he reaffirmed as the largest and most successful political party in Africa.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Governor said the e-registration exercise would open the door for new members to proudly join the “winning party,” while also providing a credible, transparent, and technology-driven membership database.
According to him, the electronic process will eliminate manipulation and fraudulent practices, enhance accuracy, and ensure efficient data management in line with global best practices in political party organisation.
Governor Abiodun called on party leaders, stakeholders, and members at all levels to fully mobilise supporters across the state and ensure mass participation in the exercise.
“This is a collective responsibility. Our leaders, ward executives, and field officers must work together to deliver a seamless, inclusive, and hitch-free registration process. The era of fake or inflated membership figures is over,” the Governor said.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of APC, Chief Yemi Sanusi, urged party faithful to see the exercise as a unifying and strengthening process rather than a personal or transactional venture.
“This registration is not about personal gain; it is about consolidating our strength as a party and positioning APC for continued leadership and electoral success,” he said.
Chief Sanusi called on party leaders across the 236 wards of the state to provide full support for the exercise and assured members that the party leadership would deploy additional registration centres and operators where necessary to accommodate all prospective members within the limited time available.
He stressed that no genuine supporter or intending member of the APC should be excluded from the process.
The flag-off ceremony also featured the electronic registration of key party leaders, including the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Toyin Taiwo, underscoring the leadership’s commitment to the exercise.
Party members and supporters are therefore encouraged to participate actively and mobilise others to do sathe me, as the APC continues to build a stronger, more inclusive, and forward-looking political family in Ogun State.

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Ogun State, led by Comrade Sanyaolu Abayomi, has extended warm congratulations to the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, on her 60th birthday.
In a statement, IPAC praised Engr. Salako-Oyedele’s leadership, compassion, and dedication to public service, describe her as a “dependable leader, a compassionate mother, and a pillar of support in the governance of Ogun State”.
The council commended her inclusive leadership style, humility, and commitment to peace, unity, and good governance, saying her legacy of service will outlive generations.
IPAC prayed for her continued good health, strength, and wisdom as she celebrates this milestone, and encouraged her to keep upholding the values of fairness, compassion, and integrity.
