Pelican Valley CEO, Promoter of Pelican Brief Estate and Pelican Valley Greenish Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, is poised to embark on another trip to Canada to both explore more of the North American country’s business horizon and showcase new vista of opportunities in real estate sector to Nigerians in diaspora.
Adeyemo said the planned travel is geared towards consolidating on the gains of the previous one carried out last year, encourage repatriation of investible capital into sustainable real estate business back home for wealth and jobs creation as well as cultivate future real estate entrepreneurs from the diaspora.
The multiple awards winning real estate entrepreneur who recently returned from the United Kingdom for similar trip, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in his office at The Podium, Pelican Valley Estate Laderin in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
He also disclosed that the upcoming trip is being sponsored by his existing clients in diaspora, stressing that many of them having trusted him and found him to be a man of integrity, decided to invite him over to share his wealth of experience in real estate business with them and other prospective investors.
The proposed visit which is expected to cuts across three major events in Canada, he will be meeting with The Egbe- Omo Yoruba of Manitoba, The Egba Descendant Association of Manitoba and The Al’Nuir Islamic Society of Manitoba on August 13, 2025 at Acomi Cultural Centre 200-301 Nassau Street N. Winnipeg, MB. R3L 2J5, Canada.
TIME: 6:00 PM , where he is being expected to open the eyes of Nigerians in diaspora on how to identify lucrative opportunities in real estate and how to start the capital intensive property business with zero capital and become an entrepreneur in the industry, explaining that the real estate is massive and runs through all sectors of the Nigeria’s economy.
According to him, “Nigerian nation can leverage the real estate sector to scale down the unemployment rate by over 50 percent”.
He said what endeared him to Nigerians in diaspora are his proven integrity, product delivery, assured peace of mind for investments in Pelican Valley projects, high ROI and commitment to assisting clients to obtain building approvals for their lands in his estates, in a record time.
Adeyemo also identified full layout approvals by government for his estates, infrastructure development, access to electricity connected to power source from the national grid as well as adequate security as other factors that made his real estate products the safest and first choice among smart investors.
He said, “Interestingly, it is our clients that are asking me to come over to Canada. I’m going to Canada for three events. One was facilitated by a renowned and respected Egba High Chief, Chief Olawale Olaleye, tagged (Canada trade mission, 2025). Chief Olaleye single handedly got Canada visa for me and my wife just to come and showcase my real estate business in Canada. He did it for me. I was initially not keen on traveling out because I won the confidence and trust of all my clients, including over 400 Nigerians in Canada, without leaving the shore of Nigeria. It was like, what else am I looking for? Going there to do what? The world is now a global village but my clients are desirous of having me come to Canada.
” I was there last year for the first edition of the Canada Trade Mission 2024. It was highly successful. I received a prestigious accolades from a member of the Canadian Parliament Brampton Centre, Mr ShapQat Ali in October 4, 2024, in recognition of my vicious drive in the real estate business both at home and abroad. And this year again, I believe we will be honored as well. I will be going there to share the new vista of real estate business back home in Nigeria and how they can take advantage of it. I won’t let the cat out of bag now until we meet during business round table in Canada, by God’s grace.
“So, having this successful outing with the first Canada Trade Mission, the second event is double – headed, it’s facilitated also by one of our respected clients in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is being facilitated by a renowned academics, a professor of Agriculture from the University of Manitoba, who is also a client in Pelican Brief Estate, Kobape. He is leading us to meet three different associations in Winnipeg.
“All these movements are being initiated by my existing clients. That is the beauty of it. They tasted it. They trusted it. They have seen it. It is not about you sweet- talking people to buy what you have not invested your own funds in. These are property owners in the estate, they are the one urging me to come. I commend them for that. I won’t take the relationship have built and continue to build together over the years for granted. And after the Canada trip, I still have another trip to make. God’s willing, I will be in the United States of America in December this year. That is being facilitated by Mr Dare Anigioro. Mr Anigioro is also a client in Pelican Valley Estate in Laderin. He has been impressing it on me that they needed me in the U.S. Anigioro by the special grace of God is taking me to the United States before the end of the year.
“These are not self – planned trips. They are trips being promoted by my existing clients who have no hidden interest or benefits. Mr. Anigioro paid for my visa application fee. The Avenue Impact CEO, Mr. Funsho Akinwunmi paid for my London AVI trip, picked me up from the airport paid for my accommodation,etc. They fed me and when I was going, they gave me gift. They also patronised me overwhelmingly. It is just like Yoruba proverb that says you are looking for money and you now see Honour, you should go back home because if you eventually got the money you would use it to buy Honour. To God be the Glory, it has been successful and I do appreciate our clients so hugely and humbly.
On using the real estate to tackle the rising unemployment statistics in the country, Adeyemo advised this: “Once you become a real estate entrepreneur, you will grow to become a builder and that is what I m going to teach my people. We are doing it free of charge. I think real estate investment is capable of reducing Nigeria’s unemployment rate by 50% because we have real estate in every sector of our economy. There is real estate in agriculture, there is real estate in health car sector, tourism, oil and gas, entertainment, sports, art and culture, even, the health sector. “Industrialization has some segments of real estate. So, real estate is a very big and buoyant sector of which an average smart leader or government should leverage to create jobs for people. Although, government cannot do it alone but they can partner with genuine real estate developers to drive jobs creation. It is very very important but how will they partner with real estate developers? That is a different ball game.
“What modalities are the government going to use? Are they going to use the existing modalities which have little or no impact on tackling housing deficit? Are they going to use the same medium that creates jobs just for the boys ? We need to be very very serious and the government needs to be decisive towards formatting the old system to unleash the jobs creation potential in the real estate sector.”.

…Convener vows massive grassroots mobilisation for APC in 2027 general elections; commends members for dedication, steadfastness and commitment.
The Ogun State-based political movement, Omoluabi, led by its Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the revered royal icon of Yorubaland, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile-Ife.
The visit was aimed at receiving royal blessings and guidance as the group prepares for the 2027 general elections. During the visit, the movement also unveiled 26 newly acquired buses to strengthen its political mobilization efforts across Ogun State.
The delegation, which included selected executive members, local government coordinators, and the State Coordinator, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, was warmly received by the monarch.
Speaking during the visit, Akintunde described the Ooni as a father figure whose leadership and character inspired the name “Omoluabi.” He noted that seeking the monarch’s blessings was a significant step in the movement’s journey toward the next political phase in Ogun State and nation at large.
“We visited our royal father whose his character has demonstrated Omoluabi in all spheres of humanity. He was part of the idea when we started, Ooni is a father to us all, therefore moving into political journey, it’s important for us to seek for his royal blessings.
“This journey we have embarked upon is aimed at supporting the second-term aspiration of our party’s national leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his re-election bid. We are equally committed to supporting all our party’s candidates in Ogun State following the primaries.
“We are prepared to mobilize massively across the length and breadth of the state. The second-term race of our dear President, Asiwaju, remains our primary assignment, followed by unwavering support for all candidates who emerge in the forthcoming elections, just as we did prior to the 2023 general elections.
“This is a begining exercise for us all in the Omoluabi Political Movement in Ogun State, I appreciate our members, coordinators both the state and local governments levels, their unwavering commitment is top notch, may we continue to grow in strength and as we prepare towards the coming elections in Ogun State” – Akintunde said.
In the same vein, the State Coordinator, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, commended the convener’s vision, commitment and dedication, emphasizing that the newly branded buses would enhance grassroots mobilization and facilitate participation in the forthcoming national convention in Abuja.
In his remarks, the monarch, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, expressed joy at receiving the group and offered prayers for continued growth, unity and success in their future endeavours.
The political movement, Omoluabi has continued to distinguish itself as a fast-growing, grassroots-driven political platform committed to leadership development, community engagement and progressive governance in Ogun State.
With a strong presence across local governments and a clear mobilization structure, the group has positioned itself as a formidable force dedicated to empowering citizens and fostering inclusive political participation.
Under the leadership of Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, Omoluabi has demonstrated resilience, strategic organization and a people-centred vision aimed at sustainable development and democratic advancement.
The unveiling of the 26 buses further reflects the movement’s readiness, coordination and commitment to structured political engagement as it steadily builds momentum toward 2027.

The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of workers and retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) with the approval of an Additional Pension Benefit (APB) designed to enhance retirement security and significantly close the existing gaps in the scheme.
This was made known during a meeting chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, following a series of strategic engagements between the State Government, representatives of labour unions, Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs), and members of the Pension Fund Management Committees to address concerns surrounding the implementation of the CPS and strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Commissioner emphasised that compliance with the CPS law was not only mandatory but also beneficial to both employees and the State. He explained that the Defined Pension Scheme (DPS) and the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) were fundamentally different, adding that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration was committed to bridging any identified gaps in order to protect workers’ interests.
He disclosed that Governor Dapo Abiodun, had approved the introduction of the Additional Pension Benefit (APB) in line with extant laws. According to him, the APB was specifically designed to close the gap between the CPS and the old Defined Pension Scheme, particularly in relation to gratuity, which was not provided for under the CPS.
Mr. Okubadejo further explained that lump sum withdrawals which often resulted in reduced monthly pension payments, informed the Government decision to develop a more sustainable structure, saying that with the introduction of the APB, Government intended to seek necessary approvals from the National Pension Commission (PENCOM) to ensure that pension contributions held by PFAs were preserved primarily for enhanced monthly payments, while the APB would serve as a one-off payment upon retirement.
“Unlike gratuity under the DPS, the APB would not be a fixed percentage. Instead, it will be computed based on specific criteria, including years of service and gross emoluments, to ensure fairness and equity among retirees. The benefit is scheduled to take effect from July 2026,” he said.
The Commissioner charged the Ministries involved in pension, PFAs, Labour unions to improve service delivery, intensify public enlightenment campaigns, and organize regular pre-retirement training sessions for workers at least six months before retirement to enhance their understanding of the pension scheme.
In their opening remarks, Permanent Secretaries of the State and Local Government Pension Offices, Mrs. Arinola Adetayo and Engr. Olufisan Osiyale, explained that the engagements were convened to deepen relationships, resolve emerging challenges and ensure seamless access to retirement benefits.
They described the CPS as a tripod, resting on three critical stakeholders, the employer, the employee and the Pension Fund Administrators, stressing that effective synergy among them was essential for the success of the scheme.
Noting further, the Permanent Secretaries said that government had consistently demonstrated goodwill in addressing workers’ concerns, ensuring that retirees do not face uncertainty or financial hardship after years of service.
Responding on behalf of the Labour Unions, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun State Council, Mr. Ademola Benco and Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Mr. Akeem Lasisi, commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for what they described as a bold, thoughtful and worker-friendly initiative.
They noted that labour’s longstanding concern had been the sustainability and adequacy of monthly pension payments under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), but expressed satisfaction that the introduction of the Additional Pension Benefit (APB) had effectively addressed those fears.
Describing the initiative as innovative and unprecedented, the labour leaders affirmed their full support for the reform and the proposed structure for retirement benefits, adding that it reflected the administration’s commitment to the welfare and financial security of workers in the State.
