OMC Mobilizes Muslims For Unity With Special Iftaar Lecture
The Ogun State Muslim Council {OMC}, Abeokuta North Local Government Chapter has again harped on the importance of unity and cohesion among the various Muslim societies and organizations.
During its maiden Special IFTAAR Lecture held on *Saturday, 23rd March 2024,* corresponding to Yawmus-Sabt, *13th Ramadan, 1445A.H*,
stakeholders agreed that all hands must be on deck to ensure the fulfillment of a virile, cohesive, and united front for the Muslim Community.
Speaking at the event held at Olujoko Mosque, Ita-Ika, Abeokuta, the Guest LECTURER, who doubles as the *Mufaasir of Egba Land*, *Shayk Abdul Wahab Taofiq Amolegbe* urged the Muslim Ummah to embrace love by closing ranks, and de-emphasizing their differences. While discussing the topic _Unification of the Muslim Ummah_ the revered Muslim Scholar expatiated on *Quran Chapter 3 verse 103,* declaring that no two persons could ever see issues entirely from the same perspective, noting also that concerns arising from different interpretations of the verses of the Holy Quran should rather be seen as a blessing, and not a curse to divide them.
In his earlier remarks, the Chapter Coordinator, Alhaji Mushafar Alaran, FCA, hinted that the event was a deliberate attempt at further fostering love and entrenching unity among Muslims in the local government. He appealed that they continue to see themselves as brethren of common root who are commanded to preach and deepen love and harmony, not only within their fold but across the various spectrums of human society.
Dignitaries at the event include Imams, Mufaasirs, other eminent scholars, Professionals, and appointed representatives of over 150 mosques within the local government.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Olotu Adini of Egba Muslims, and Chairman, OMC, Egba Zone, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Tunji Kalejaye and Alhaji Kareem Adisa eulogized the vision, as well as the passion of the organizers. The duo buttressed the importance of mutual love and understanding among Muslims, stressing that no meaningful progress could ever be achieved by a house that is divided against itself.
Also addressing the faithful at the gathering, the Secretary General of Ogun State Muslim Council, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde appreciated the organizers for providing an opportunity for brethren to breakfast together, stressing that unity was a key ingredient for the attainment of collective aspirations.
The Chairman, Organizing Committee, *Alhaji AbdulFattah Odusanya*, while thanking Allah {SWA} for the success of the lecture, also appreciated the impressive turnout of the Muslim faithful at the event, praying that Allah rewards the various donors bounteously.
