Ogun NLC celebrates May Day in grand style, Dangote, Nestle,other gets award

Ahead of the Nation Worker’s Day, 2023, the Nigeria Labour Congress Ogun state chapter has commemorated the 2023 Worker’s Day by supporting the workers and presenting merit awards for some dignitaries in Nigeria.

The commemoration kick-started on Thursday and features a series of activities including, Chuch worship and the presentation of the merit award which was held Sunday at the NLC secretariat Leme Abeokuta, the state capital.

Speaking at the event the state Chairman of the NLC Comr. Benco Ademola assured members of the NLC that all their requests would be tabled to the Governor of the state, adding that he would ensure that workers have a good. commendation in his administration.

He noted that pensioners would be given special consideration and their requests would be related to the governor to ensure that they are taken care of, he boasted that his administration would not obey any protocols if there is a need to discuss any matters arising with the governor.

“The pensioners, by God’s grace, your request has been heard and would be able to table tomorrow, this is an administration that would not obey any protocols if I have the opportunity to speak with my Governor when he is in the toilet, I will talk to him. Because that is where everybody will come after our service”.

“Before now there is a standing committee that was inaugurated last year, the Pension consequential committee. I challenge the gov. that the committee should stand which he obliged”.

“My advice is that we should all continue to pray so that any opportunities that from Abuja, people who are in the corner of government should remember us”.

He also appreciated the workers for their support and some cooperating organisations for the Cooperate Social Responsibility CSR project for NLC.

Ademola called on them to always be good at work, noting that whatever they are doing now, is like they are writing their own story.

“My advice to all workers is that we should be good at work, whatever we are doing today, we are writing our story”
