Ogun Govt., UNICEF Ready to Partner Agencies on ITNs, Child Health Advocacy

The Ogun state government and UNICEF are teaming up to promote the use of Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets (ITNs) and are open to partnering with other agencies to amplify their advocacy efforts.
This was stated by the Director of Production Service Unicef, Ministry of Information Alhaja Kemi Ewedairo-Yusuf during the State Social Mobilization and Technical Committee S-SOMTEC Meeting on Thursday, at the Ministry of Information Press Center, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Ewedairo-Yusuf stated that collective dedication is pertinent to ensuring the health and well-being of every child in the state.
According to her, “The goal is not just to spread information, but to inspire action and foster behavioral change within communities”
“I am certain that through our collaborative efforts as a Committee, we can bridge gaps, dispel myths, and promote essential practices that are vital for the survival and development of our children”.
” Your active participation and commitment are crucial to the success of these initiatives,” she said.
She noted that they are ready to partner with any agencies that are ready to intensify advocacy on the prevention of child health challenges.
Also in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information in Ogun State, Mr. Waheed Adeshina noted the ministry has been in collaboration with the UNICEF Lagos Field Office over the years to ensure that the message of child survival, development, and protection permeates every nook and cranny of in the state.
He pointed out that the ministry has worked jointly with the Primary Healthcare Board to amplify key interventions aimed at ensuring that children, irrespective of their background, are given a chance to live and thrive.

The partnership aims to ensure the health and well-being of every child in the state while she was emphasizing the importance of collective dedication and active participation in achieving this goal.
The Ogun state government has been working with UNICEF’s Lagos Field Office and the Primary Healthcare Board to reach every corner of the state with critical messages and interventions.
UNICEF’s approach to advocacy involves convening strategic partnerships, generating data, sharing knowledge, and mobilizing resources to drive action on maternal and child nutrition.
