The Deputy Governor of Ogun State Engr. Naimot Salako Oyedele has called for peaceful co-existence in Nigeria amidst religious differences, saying that religion and ethnic differences should not divide Nigeria’s Unity sustainability.

Oyedele made the call shortly after a Tafsri program held at the deputy’s lodged in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the state capital, where over 20 Islamic groups were in attendance for the Tafsri.

She said “Despite that we all have identities, and no religion preaches violence, the important thing is that we learn good lessons that no Religion preaches violence.

Naimot added that religion is for the good and benefits humanity, so we should all imbibe, and make sure this doesn’t divide us, noting that the country has been a country with about 200 ethnic groups, and two major religions.

She posited that for as long as the country is together it is our responsibility as a leader in this generation to make sure the country remains one and doesn’t get divided.

“We have a very brilliant lecture and a special prayer from the deputy missioner of Nawardeen, part of the lecture was that women are responsible to bring families together, and take care of the next generation and responsible for good governance”.

“At the end of the day we all have identities, the important thing is that we learn good lessons that no Religion preaches violence, is for the good and benefits humanity, so we should all imbibe, and make sure this doesn’t divide us”.

“This country has been with about 200 ethnic groups, and two major religions for as long as the country is together it is our responsibility as leaders in this generation to make sure the country remains one and doesn’t get divided”.

“Despite our differences, challenges, and interests we have to come together to protect the interest of the country and make sure of its greatness”.
