Ogun Deputy Gov. Gets Engineering Fellow Award

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has been honoured with an award of Fellowship of the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen, in recognition of her achievements in the Engineering profession.
The Award, which is the highest distinguished honour of the Association, was conferred on her during its 29th National Engineering Conference/AGM in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, and formally presented to her in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
In her remarks, the Deputy Governor, appreciated the Association for the award, stating that the body would be an uptick in the demand for certified skilled men, who in their chosen endeavours were principal drivers of the nation’s economy and the world at large.
“When people are looking for the best-qualified people to do their work, with your organisation and the profile you are setting up for yourself, I am sure that employers will look for organisations like yours, to certify people for them or even employ them for their services”, she said.
Engr. Salako-Oyedele stated that the current administration in the state was committed to supporting skill acquisition, through its government Technical, Vocational Colleges, and training centres, as well as partnering with organisations and private individuals through Public Private Partnership initiatives, to ensure a better quality of life for the citizenry.
Earlier in his remarks, the pioneer National Vice President of the Association, Engr. Craftsman Mathew Ajayi, applauded the Deputy Governor for accepting the award, saying her contributions to the Engineering sector cannot be overemphasised.
While commending the state government on its drive to uplift citizens of the state, he explained that the Association would also focus on empowering craftsmen, noting that plans were underway by the Federal Government to train Craftsmen under the ‘Nigerian Skill qualification framework’, with its formal gazetting into the Federal Civil Service, revealing that at it was at the implementation stage at the Federal Ministry of Establishments.
