Mammoth Crowd Expects In Ogun, As Klic Sets To Hold At MKO Stadium
A Popular Comedian, Olukoyejo Morenikeji, popularly known as ‘Koye’ has refuted claims that the use of MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta for his coming concert has political correlations.
Koye stated this on Monday, while speaking with newsmen at the NUJ Secretariate, Iwe Iroyin, as part of his media engagement for his upcoming show tagged ‘Koye Live In Concert’ (KLIC)
The ace comedian stated that the use of the stadium is more of a business decision than political, saying that the show has been to almost all the available event centers in the state, noting that the expected crowd would only be accommodated at the stadium.
“For those that know my brand, I started with IT’S KOYE AGAIN, which turned out to be Koye live in concert, and when it started we did not start at the stadium, we started at Park Inn, at their auditorium we did it two years 2016 and 2017 from Park Inn 2018 we did it at OOPL cinema auditorium, in 2020 we did not have an event because of Coronavirus.
“To an extent, the biggest event center in Ogun state is not likely to take our crowd again and I think it is time for a bigger picture dis is purelypassion-drivingg.
“Every year during the festive period, I found out that Ogun state generally sees more fun in going to Lagos and the truth is that we have the facilities here. We have everything we need to push a Lagos standard here we are not just tapping into our resources.
“When I said am going to the stadium people said Koye it’s not possible, that I should stick to OOPL or any other events center that everyone is using but I said no let’s have this push, heaven will not fall.
“That is the major reason behind and we are trying to solve a major problem the major is bringing residents of Ogun state out of their houses for events. People don’t think about going out. They believe on Friday nights, once you go to a bar, you have gone out for the week.
“Apart from that it’s not about entertainment fine it’s entertaining too but at least u need to go to event comedy concert, musical concert, not because you can sit down and dance, but also because u can network and get to meet new people, grow the economy at large the end of the day we are employing and pushing the economy too, lots of people will be able to sell their market a whole lot of vendors will be able to sell their stuff, whether we like it or not directly or indirectly we are also pushing the ideas of Ogun state”, he added
