LASPOTECH: Students Kick Against Increment Of Certificate Fee

The Lagos State Polytechnic students, (LASPOTECH) have overruled the sudden 500 percent increments in prices of the school certificate fee by the school management as they called on the state government’s intervention.
The polytechnic’s executive council revealed the change in certificate fees which skyrocketed from #5000 to #30,000, in a memo circulated earlier last week.
The memo contained the meeting held in April, over a proposed upward review of students’ auxiliary fees which allowed the certificate fees to change alongside.
However, the students did not take the approval of the increment well as they criticized the sudden rise in fees.
LASPOTECH students’ ExCos went against the increment, stressing that they are not in support of the management decision.
The union had made its stand known and visible to the management while pleading to the students to stay calm over the situation.
Therefore, the students union has pleaded to the management and the state government on behalf of the students, to do just with the increment of the certificate fees
