JCI Abeokuta Hills Joins Forces with OGSG to Combat Cholera Outbreak
In a proactive bid to stem the spread of cholera, JCI Abeokuta Hills has partnered with the Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Department of Odeda Local Government to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign.
The initiative, which kicked off at Osiele Market and culminated at Odo Eran, aimed to empower market women, communities, and the general public with essential knowledge on cholera prevention and public health.
Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, the team emphasized the crucial importance of proper hygiene, safe drinking water, and sanitation practices in preventing the spread of cholera.
Market women and vendors were educated on effective handwashing techniques, food handling, and storage methods to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
The campaign’s second leg at Odo Ẹran Market focused on meat sellers and vendors, highlighting the critical role of proper meat handling and storage in preventing cholera transmission.
The team provided valuable resources and practical advice to help vendors maintain sanitary conditions in their stalls and during meat processing.
