Fuel Tanker Explosion: Accord Party Urges FG, States to Prevent Recurrence
The party Accord under the leadership of Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, has commiserated with the victims of the fuel tanker explosion at Majiya village of Taura Local Government Area, Jigawa.
The leadership of the Accord party made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, urging the FG to take proactive action to prevent further occurrences in the future.
The explosion which caused over 100 people to die and 54 others to be hospitalized, was regarded as a sad event.
“The party is heartbroken and deeply saddened over the tragic incident and prays to God Almighty to console, comfort, and strengthen the families that lost their loved ones and speedy recovery for the injured”.
“We urge the Federal and state governments to take proactive measures to prevent a recurrence of this monumental disaster. The party also appeals to citizens to desist from scooping petroleum products at accident scenes as they are highly inflammable”
