Balogun Marks 100 Days in Office with Landmark Projects, Initiatives

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez (BOA) has celebrated 100 Days in office with a significant project, paid for over 1,000 individuals’ health insurance, and distributed 120 Street lights across the Local Government CDCs and CDAs.

The chairman also officially launched the i-W.I.S.H initiative which is majorly focused on inclusive governance, the initiative an acronym of (i-W.I.S.H ) initiative for Welfare, Insurance, Security, and Healthcare of the constituents, the first of its kind in the history of Local Governments in Ogun State.

The landmark celebration of the 100 days in office was held at the council secretariat, Ake, Abeokuta Ogun State capital.

Balogun who partnered with the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency(OGSHIA) distributed health insurance access cards to over 1,000 constituents who were selected randomly across the Local Government.

In his welcome address, Hon. Balogun re-emphasized his commitment to ensure the betterment of Abeokuta South Local Government constituents.

He noted that despite the delay in Autonomy, his administration would not hesitate to do what is right for Abeokuta South Local Government as their elected chairman.

Balogun explained that so far the Local Government only relied on internally generated revenue (IGR) for now, vowing that anything generated by the people of the Local Government will always have a tangible project done with it.

He also declared that healthcare insurance given to over 1,000 constituents was done in good faith for the Local Government residents.

Balogun maintained that beyond healthcare, his administration will not relent in providing adequate security to ensure that the life and property of Abeokuta South residents are safe.

He added that he would collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure safety to put an end to kidnapping, one chance, in the council area with the support of the Ogun State Government.

According to him” Today we are celebrating 100 days in office with a landmark project, a first of its kind, our administration has launched an initiative called i-W.I.S.H an acronym for Initiative for Welfare, Insurance, Security, and Healthcare, for the betterment of our constituents.

“In this initiative, we have paid for over 1000 beneficiaries who were selected randomly across the Local Government and we ensured that access cards were issued for them, we are still going to do more. It is important to state that despite the delay in LG’s Autonomy, we have been doing this through IGR generated by the Local Government”.

“We are also going to collaborate with all relevant security agents for effective security. Also to prevent the ravaging of one chance we are going to provide jackets for all our transport operators in the Local Government”

“Additionally, we have provided 120 solar streetlights in all our CDCs, and we shall involve all 15 councilors in the Local Government to monitor the installation for rightful positioning”.

“I want to assure you all that there is no money collected from our people without using it for a tangible project that will benefit all, and we doing all this with good faith”.

In her closing remarks, the vice chairman of the Local Government, Mrs. Oluranti Ogunmokun described Hon. Balogun as God sent to Local Government.

She admonished Abeokuta South Local Government constituents to have confidence in Balogun’s led administration.

Ogunmokun also assured that as time goes credible and tangible projects must have been done before the Balogun’s administration marks 1 year in office,

She noted that within 100 days in office, Balogun has prioritized all major life-saving projects and ensured that they all achieved.
