As part of an effort to strengthen security in Ogun, Gov. Dapo Abiodun on Thursday, donated 25 patrol vehicles, and drones to the Ogun police command.

Abiodun explained that the gesture was in line with the Federal government’s motive of zero tolerance for insecurity.

Speaking while receiving the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun in his office in Abeokuta, Abiodun noted that the vehicles and ultra-modern drone facilities would assist in combating crime in the state.

Abiodun presented the patrol vans to the IGP in the company of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Olatoye Durosimi, and the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu.

He promised to continue to support security agencies to win the war against crimes and criminalities in Nigeria

Abidoun commended the innovative and transformational leadership style of Egbetokun, promising to continue to support Nigerian Police to enhance Community Policing to win the war against insecurity in Nigeria.

Earlier, Egbetokun appreciated Abiodun for the gesture, acknowledging that the state remains one of the most peaceful in the country.

The IGP promised that the Nigerian Police would establish more police formations to curtail possible security breaches.

” I am here to thank you, especially for the support that you have been given to the police in Ogun state command.

” I am also here to thank you especially for the wonderful job that you are doing in Ogun, I noticed that our state has been turned around. I flew over the major towns and I could see massive development going on.

” The least we can do is to support you, we have to pay attention to even the provision of security for the Ogun state.

” I can see the migration of people into Ogun state increasing every day because of the development in Ogun State and again because of the peace in Ogun state.

” All this development that you are undertaking has a burden we recognize that and the police leadership has decided to pay the necessary attention to Ogun state.

” We are going to create more police stations to match the development that is going on in Ogun state. We will establish more area commands, we are going to bring an additional mobile police squadron into the Ogun state,” he said.

Egbetokun sought more support from the governor, saying that he should not get tired of supporting the police.
